BSG
- K56 – Bavarian Hefeweizen – A true Bavarian delight! This Bavarian Hefeweizen is golden blond and cloudy, with classic banana and clove phenols from the yeast wrapped up with bready wheat flavors. Serve in a tall glass with a slice of orange. Want that traditional cloudy appearance? Serve it mit hefe (“with yeast”) by swirling the bottle with a a little remaining beer in it to make sure you get all the flavorful yeast. Prost!
- K61 – Amber Altbier – A traditional German style that originated in Düsseldorf. This beer is deep-copper and medium bodied, with Tettnang hops adding a light spicy flavor and floral aroma, and Munich Malt providing a smooth, slightly sweet, bready finish.
- K62 – American Pale Ale – This American Pale Ale showcases the bold citrus flavor and floral aroma of Cascade hops – a classic staple of American Craft brewing. Golden with a frothy white head, the subtle sweetness provided by crystal malt balances out the grapefruit notes of the hops.
- K63 – American Wheat – This American Wheat Ale is an easy-drinking beer with subtle maltiness and a neutral finish. The wheat malt provides a base of sweet, bready, and slightly tangy flavors, with crystal malt contributing a light caramel sweetness and medium body. German hops add a subtle spice and floral aroma notes to the beer.
- K64 – Belgian Blond Ale – This medium-bodied Belgian Blond Ale is refreshingly complex and maintains a perfect blend between delicate malt sweetness, fruity esters, and spicy and phenolic notes that combine with flavors of honey, bread, caramel, pear, black pepper, as well as a dry finish.
- K65 – Belgian Saison – This Belgian Saison is complex, spicy, fruity, and flavorful with a tart, dry finish. Pilsen Malt provides a clean base, with just a touch of caramel sweetness from crystal malt, complimented by the spicy and earthy flavors of Styrian Goldings, while Saison yeast imparts notes of pepper, clove, citrus, and tropical fruit.
- K66 – Bohemian Pilsner – This classic Bohemian Pilsner has a light, gold color, and slightly sweet malt flavor. Czech Saaz hops provide a spicy, floral, and mildly bitter hop character that is balanced by a crisp and refreshing finish.
- K67 – California IPA – This golden California IPA is hop-forward with the slightest notes of caramel and biscuit. Amarillo and Azacca hops combine to create a complex and juicy hop profile with tropical and citrus flavors of orange, grapefruit, mango, and papaya, with a moderate bitterness level.
- K68 – British Brown Ale – This extremely smooth and full-bodied British Brown Ale is malty, slightly nutty, and subtly roasty, with flavors of toffee, chocolate, and toasted bread. UK hops provide earthy and floral notes, while British ale yeast accentuates the malt while adding a slight fruitiness.
- K69 – English Porter – This English Style Porter is rich, dark, and flavorful, layered with roasted, nutty, and chocolate flavors, with a hint of toffee sweetness and dark fruit. Willamette hops provide a subtle bitterness and earthy, spicy, and herbal aromas, backed by mild fruity esters from English Ale yeast.
- K70 – ESB – This English-style bitter with a moderate bitterness provided by an American hop twist is a medium-bodied copper colored ale featuring notes of caramel, toasted bread, biscuit, and a slight fruitiness provided by English ale yeast.
- K71 – Fruited Sour Ale – *Oregon Fruit Puree not included. Use 1 to 3 liters of the Oregon Fruit Puree of your choice depending on your preference of mild to strong fruit presence. Each liter will add ~0.5% ABV. This recipe will also produce a superb standalone sour ale without the addition of a fruit puree. This kit includes a unique yeast that produces lactic acid during fermentation.
- K72 – Hazy IPA – This New England style Hazy IPA is delicious and well-rounded with a creamy mouthfeel, juicy tropical fruit, citrus, and berry hop profile, complimented by light fruity esters from the yeast and a slight caramel sweetness provided by crystal malt.
- K73 – Irish Stout – With a medium body and dry finish, this smooth and roasty Irish Stout pours black with a creamy tan head. Subtle notes of chocolate and coffee are balanced by subtle earthy and spicy hop notes and mild fruity esters from the yeast.
- K74 – Juicy IPA – This juicy IPA is a refreshing beer with a crisp base that allows the flavors and aromas of Citra and Mosaic to shine through, providing a juicy hop profile of mango, pineapple, and citrus.
- K75 – Light Lager – This Light Lager is a crisp and refreshing beer with a light body, clean finish, and subtle bitterness provided by European hops. This kit uses Mangrove Jack’s Californian Lager Yeast which produces a clean and neutral lager profile at ale fermentation temperatures.
- K76 – NorCal Double IPA – This double-dry-hopped Northern California style Double IPA is off the IBU charts. Bold and hoppy, the monster hop bill provides an intense combination of citrus, pine, and tropical fruits, with a touch of English crystal malt added to help cut the bitterness.
- K77 – Oktoberfest – This classic Märzen is a rich malty lager with a dark copper color and smooth finish that can be enjoyed year-round and features toasty caramel flavors combined with floral and earthy notes provided by German hops.
- K78 – PNW Cold IPA – This refreshing new take on a classic style is crisp and light bodied, with the clean fermentation profile of Mangrove Jack’s Californian Lager Yeast allowing the citrus, pine, tropical, floral, and fruity notes provided by a healthy dose of Amarillo, Mosaic®, Summit™, and Centennial hops to shine through.
- K79 – Nectaron Session IPA – With its lower ABV and moderate bitterness, this incredibly drinkable Session IPA features Nectaron® hops, a relatively new hop variety developed in New Zealand known for its unique tropical fruit flavor profile with hints of pineapple, mango, and passionfruit.
- K80 – West Coast Red Ale – This West Coast Red Ale is a serious malt bomb with a healthy dose of hops. Crystal and chocolate malts provide a rich, sweet, and slightly toasty profile with hints of caramel, toffee, and chocolate, backed up by citrus and resin notes from Centennial hops.

- Old Mellow English Barley Wine – Big, rich, chewy, complex and best when aged to perfection.
- Pacific NW Pale Ale – Hoppy and balanced, the C-Hops shine.
- Rocky Mountain Amber Ale/Lager -Munich malt dominates the flavor, layered with spicy hops and caramel malt.
- Rogue Brutal IPA – Not super bitter with Crystal hops giving it fruity and citrus flavors and aroma.
- Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar – A malty rich brew with a touch of nut flavoring.
- Rogue Soba Ale – This recipe requires buckwheat, which Quirky’s does not carry. But still interesting!
- Rogue Shakesphere Stout – A forgiving style, big roasted malt flavor.
- Russian Imperial Stout – More of everything, originally brewed for the Tzars. Give it time to mellow.
- Scotch Wee Heavy – A layering of crystal malts, highest alcohol of Scottish styles.
- Streets Of London Porter – A robust English brown porter.
- Uber Imperial Pilsner – A double American pilsner at heart. 8.9% ABV.
Brewer’s Best
- American Amber – Amber malt combined with medium caramel malt create a rich, copper color. Bitterness is balanced to match the malt character. Smooth clean finish with moderate carbonation level.
- American Cream Ale – An ale version of the American lager style. Clean, light & simple to brew. Faint malt notes with a hint of corn-like presence. An easy drinker.
- American Light – Uses the traditional combination of pilsner malt, rice and corn adjuncts. It is light-bodied, refreshing & thirst quenching. A very easy recipe to brew & an excellent entry to craft brewing.
- American Pale Ale – Perhaps the most widely brewed American style ale. Moderately strong hop aroma & bitterness. Pale ale malt base provides deep gold, almost amber, color & medium-bodied mouthfeel.
- American Pale Wheat – This is an easy drinking ale blending the styles of pale ale and wheat beer. The malt bill is based on wheat extract and flaked red wheat & will provide a light copper color and ample head retention. American Pale Wheats are hoppier than traditional wheat beers & American Cluster & Liberty hops lend a moderate hoppiness. BRY-7 yeast ferments a clean, ale flavor profile without the banana & clove phenols that its German counterpart has. This beer is very drinkable & is most enjoyable fresh, just after bottle conditioning.
- Belgian Golden Ale – We are keeping to Belgian tradition by crafting a strong golden ale using only pilsner malt & authentic Belgian style candi sugars. The dry finish & light body create a canvas to showcase subtle fruit notes & moderate yeast spiciness commonly found in this style. Finishing off w/predominant Belgian Lace, this ale is flavorful, refreshing & complete.
- Belgian Saison – A light bodied, effervescent ale w/warm malty flavors & a slight orange hue from the steeping grains. Golden Candi Syrup lends a faint caramel sweetness & a hint of fresh plums. The included Belgian style yeast strain completes this farmhouse style ale by contributing a spicy & peppery background.
- Belgian Tripel – Our Tripel contains one pound of light Belgian candi sugar to create a high gravity beer that is golden in color with a creamy, white head. This kit has plenty of dried malt extract & specialty grains to accent its complexity. The hops create a mild, spicy character.
- Black IPA – This American style Black IPA, also known as Cascadian Dark Ale, balances moderate roast character with medium-high hop bitterness. The distinct citrus, grapefruit & slight pine characteristics of the hops complement the roasted malt flavor & aroma of this Black IPA creating all the attributes you would expect in an American Style IPA.
- Blueberry Honey Ale – Our Blueberry Honey Ale presents a thick, white head with an aroma of luscious blueberries. Light-bodied, & finishing with a touch of honey sweetness, this brew is a treat for any time of day.
- Coffee Porter – Deep brown in color with a dark roasted coffee nose giving way to intense flavors of chocolate, coffee and a slight roasty note. Medium hop bitterness brings pleasurable balance to this dark ale, making it a brew to be enjoyed at any time of the day. A classic porter – rich & robust with a Java twist.
- Continental Pilsner – One of the world’s classic beer styles, this recipe is best enjoyed when lagered. A dry beer that finishes w/ample hop bitterness. This kit includes a lager yeast that will also perform well if fermented at ale temperatures.
- Double IPA – This high gravity ale has an upfront & dominant hop profile. The aromas of citrus & slight pine from the complex hop flavors are perfectly presented on a medium-light body back- ground. A golden hue & white frothy head help to round out this Imperial Ale.
- Dunkelweizen – Munich & chocolate malts combine to create a darker, maltier version of its lighter counterpart, Hefeweizen. Amber-brown in color yet medium-bodied with a slightly sweet, bready flavor. A specialty wheat yeast produces the characteristic phenols found in traditional Weizens.
- English Brown Ale – This medium-bodied brew has a malty character surrounded by a nutty aroma. Cara malts with a touch of chocolate malt create the brown color balanced by a subdued hop flavor.
- English Pale Ale – A classic English style that yields medium-high bitterness above a foundation of caramel maltiness. Hop character is derived from heavy bittering addition. This is a well- balanced, drinkable Special Bitter.
- German Oktoberfest – Amber in color with a nice blend of Munich malt & crystal grains. Medium-bodied, malty & finished w/a distinct hop flavor. This kit includes a lager yeast that will also perform well if fermented at ale temperatures.
- Gluten Free Ale – This Ale is the perfect choice for those looking for a Gluten free beer. The wort is crafted from White Sorghum & Belgian Style syrup & then complemented with an addition of orange & lemon peel. Lightly bitter with undertones of floral & citrus from the hops, this ale is smooth & refreshing. At last, a Gluten free ingredient kit that can be enjoyed by all!
- Grapefruit IPA – Grapefruit peel & generous amounts of hops deliver a bouquet of floral & citrus aromas. A small addition of imported specialty malt brings balance while the natural grapefruit flavoring takes your senses to a tropical paradise
- Honey Brown Ale – Refreshing yet flavorful, this Honey Brown Ale yields a sweet profile, finishing crisp & almost lager-like, while the selected hops create a light bitterness for balance. This beer is a perfect choice any time of the year. Enjoy!
- Imperial Blonde Ale – This recipe produces a malty, high gravity, full-bodied version of this easy drinking, well-rounded beer style. Golden in color, Imperial Blonde Ale consists of 100% dry malted barley w/some maltodextrin for increased alcohol by volume. A great recipe if you like big blondes!
- Imperial Nut Brown Ale – A rich, complex high-gravity specialty ale. It’s a full-bodied brew w/plenty of hop character to balance this Imperial style Brown Ale. The slight caramel & chocolate flavors are followed by a nutty aftertaste. Includes premium Safale S-04 yeast.
- Imperial Pale Ale – Perfected on the West Coast & we are proud to create an extract version of this beer style for the homebrewer. This beer is very big, very hoppy & somewhat arrogant. Use your homebrewing skills to make the most of this recipe!
- India Pale Ale (IPA) – We use plenty of hops to accent this popular style. From the bittering to the flavoring to the aroma hops, we create the perfect balance of this clean, crisp pale ale.
- Irish Stout – A dark, roasty, creamy ale. Although nearly black in color, this beer is medium-bodied & finishes dry from the roasted barley addition. Maltodextrin creates a thick, long-lasting head.
- Kolsch – Kolsch is a crisp, clean, easy-drinking ale. It has a straw- yellow hue similar to a pilsner, but is less hoppy, a bit sweeter & uses pale malts & a small amount of wheat. The lager-like characteristics this ale is famous for are achieved by using a liquid Kolsch yeast.
- Mexican Cerveza – Straw in color, our Mexican Cerveza has a crisp, clean flavor profile. Lightly hopped, with a great balance between malt & bitterness, while a small dose of lime peel adds a touch of citrus aroma. Thirst quenching, this brew is best served ice-cold with slice of lemon or lime.
- Milk Stout – Bold & black, yet sweet & subtle. This recipe offers all of the chocolate & roasted notes that you would expect from a stout. Additions of Lactose & Maltodextrin produce a full body, thick, creamy head, & sweet finish.
- NEIPA – Our New England Style IPA is pale gold in color w/a slight haze. Exploding w/juicy tropical & candy-like notes from from the select hops, w/a restrained bitterness for a more delicious hop flavor & aroma.
- Oatmeal Stout – This ale is medium-full bodied, rich & toasty in flavor. Victory malt combines w/the flaked brewers oatmeal to offer a nutty yet silky character. Dark chocolate barley adds an impression of roasted coffee. 2-row malt is included to aid in converting the oat’s starches into fermentable sugars. The selected yeast will yield a fermentation that leaves a slightly sweet character.
- Pacific Coast IPA – Using select Pacific Northwest hops, we’ve crafted a West Coast style IPA that’s big on flavor. A hardy bitterness at the start & late kettle additions create a flavor that’s bursting in tropical & citrus tones, while the medium-light maltiness pulls it all together in harmony.
- Peanut Butter Porter – Full-bodied, rich & delicious, this brew features a creamy peanut butter taste with notes of chocolate & coffee. Finishes smooth with an optimal balance of hop character.
- Red Ale – A medium-light bodied ale w/a deep red hue. Our Red Ale is smooth & easy drinking. Nice balance of caramel malts and specialty grains. Low hop bitterness.
- Robust Porter – A classic dark ale featuring chocolate & de-bittered black specialty grains. A nice, hoppy character is balanced well against this roasty, full-bodied beer.
- Russian Imperial Stout – This full-bodied dark brew has an intense roast flavor w/a huge malt influence. The hop bitterness is offset by a touch of sweetness from the big malt characters. Give this beer some time to mature & consider using an oak alternative for added complexity.
- Scottish Ale – Our Scottish Ale is full of caramel malts, both in the extract & specialty grains. Chocolate malt, roasted barley & a touch of smoked malt bring this full-bodied, malty ale to completion.
- Smoked Porter – Dark brown in color, this rich full-bodied Ale is smooth, w/chocolate & coffee-like overtones. Smoked malt imparts a complex, pleasant aroma & flavor w/a balanced & subtle hop finish.
- Toasted Coconut Cream Ale – We use biscuit malt, lactose & natural coconut flavoring to create an ale that is light bodied & sweet like a slice of coconut cream pie. This flavorful brew will quench your thirst & take care of that sweet tooth all in one sip.
- Weizenbier – Wheat malt & European hops create the recipe for this easy- drinking summertime classic. Light-bodied w/a smooth finish, our Weizenbier features an authentic dry wheat yeast.
- Whiskey barrel Stout – Specially selected dark malt extracts & specialty grains combing to release a delightful bouquet of chocolate & roast. We have included a package of genuine whisky barrel oak chips to impart flavors of oak & whisky.
- Witbier – A classic white ale brewed w/wheat, barley, orange peel & coriander. It is lightly hopped ad fermented with Safbrew WB-06 resulting in a fruity, spicy, refreshing beer w/a dry finish.
